Masjid Umayyah Damaskus

Masjid Umayyah (Arab: الجامع الأموي, translit. al-Jāmiʿ al-Umawī), atau lebih dikenal dengan Masjid Raya Damaskus (Arab: الجامع الدمشق, translit. al-Jāmiʿ al-Damishq) adalah sebuah masjid terbesar dan tertua peninggalan Dinasti Umayyah yang berada di kota Damaskus, Kegubernuran Damaskus, Suriah. Masjid ini kemudian dianggap sebagai tempat suci keempat dalam Islam. Bangunan ini awalnya merupakan tempat peribadatan Romawi, tempat menyembah Dewa Jupiter yaitu Kuil Jupiter Damaskus yang dibangun pada tahun 64 SM, namun setelah peristiwa Penaklukan Damaskus tahun 634, bangunan ini diubah menjadi sebuah kompleks yang berisi Basilika Katolik Roma yang didedikasikan untuk Saint Yohanes dan Musala di bagian tenggara untuk Muslim beribadah, kemudian secara final bangunan ini diubah dan ditingkatkan statusnya menjadi masjid pada tahun 706, atas perintah Khalifah Al-Walid bin Abdul-Malik dari Bani Umayyah.
