Visual Concept Entertainment adalah Pengembang permainan video bermarkas di Novato, California. Didirikan pada Mei 1988, perusahaan ini dikenal sebagai pengembang permainan video waralaba 2K, terbaru NBA 2K dan WWE 2K, dan sebelumnya NFL 2K dan College Hoops 2K. Visual Concepts diakuisisi oleh Sega pada Mei 1999 dan dijual ke Take-Two Interactive pada Januari 2005. Akuisisi perusahaan membuat Take-Two Interactive membuka label 2K mereka yang menjadi bagian dari Visual Concepts, sehari setelah akuisisi.

Konsep Visual didirikan pada tahun 1988 oleh pemrogram Scott Patterson dan saudara laki-laki Greg dan Jeff Thomas, dan pada awalnya berbasis di sebuah kantor kecil di atas sebuah bank di Novato, California. Pada tanggal 25 Januari 1995, Electronic Arts mengumumkan bahwa mereka telah mengakuisisi saham di perusahaan tersebut. Pada bulan September 1997, Sega mengumumkan niat mereka untuk mengakuisisi perusahaan tersebut; kesepakatan ditutup pada tanggal 18 Mei 1999, dan Konsep Visual mengalihkan kepemilikan dengan jumlah yang tidak diungkapkan.

Menyusul kesepakatan pada bulan Juni 2004 antara Sega dan Take-Two Interactive, di mana keduanya akan bersama-sama menerbitkan dan mendistribusikan judul-judul dalam seri game berbasis Visual Concepts ESPN, rumor mulai menyebar pada bulan Desember 2004, yang menyatakan bahwa Take-Two Interactive berencana mengakuisisi Visual Concepts dari Sega. Pada tanggal 24 Januari 2005, Take-Two Interactive mengumumkan telah menyelesaikan transaksi sebesar US$24 million kepada Sega untuk mengakuisisi Visual Concepts, anak perusahaannya Kush Games, dan kekayaan intelektual untuk waralaba 2K. Pengajuan Form 10-K penerbit pada tahun 2006 kemudian menunjukkan bahwa totalnya adalah US$32,2 million telah dibayarkan kepada Sega untuk akuisisi Konsep Visual dan properti afiliasinya pada Januari 2006. Pada tanggal 25 Januari 2005, sehari setelah akuisisi, Take-Two Interactive mengumumkan label penerbitan baru mereka, 2K, yang selanjutnya akan mengelola Visual Concepts dan Kush Games.

Sebuah studi penelitian pada bulan Maret 2009 tentang skor Metacritic, yang dilakukan oleh GameQuarry, menempatkan Visual Concepts sebagai pengembang video game "paling konsisten" nomor satu di situs web review aggregator, dengan 50 dari mereka 72 pertandingan pada saat itu telah menerima skor ulasan agregat 80/100 atau lebih tinggi. Pada bulan Agustus 2010, Visual Concepts memberhentikan 30 karyawan karena "kebutuhan penyelarasan sumber daya dan efisiensi yang lebih baik". Pada bulan Desember 2018, di The Game Awards 2018, Greg Thomas dianugerahi penghargaan "Ikon Industri" atas pengabdiannya selama 30 tahun dengan Visual Concepts.

2K mengakuisisi divisi game HookBang, yang sebelumnya pernah bekerja dengan Visual Concepts pada game NBA 2K, pada Maret 2021. Divisi tersebut berganti nama menjadi Visual Concepts Austin untuk terus mendukung Visual Concepts.
