Skeptisisme ilmiah atau skeptisisme rasional adalah posisi seseorang yang mempertanyakan klaim yang kurang memiliki bukti empiris. Dalam praktik, istilah ini biasanya digunakan untuk pengecekan klaim dan teori yang kemungkinan merupakan ilmu semu. Skeptisisme ilmiah berbeda dari skeptisisme filosofis, yang mempertanyakan kemampuan manusia untuk mengklaim pengetahuan apa pun tentang sifat dunia dan bagaimana mereka melihatnya, dan skeptisisme metodologis yang serupa tetapi berbeda, yang merupakan proses sistematis menjadi skeptis tentang (atau meragukan) kebenaran keyakinan seseorang.
Skeptisisme ilmiah menggunakan pemikiran kritis dan pembuktian melalui induksi ketika mencoba melawan klaim yang kurang memiliki bukti.
