Sengkayan

Sengkayan (Inggris: waterspoutcode: en is deprecated ) adalah sebuah vorteks kolumnar intens (biasanya muncul sebagai awan berbentuk corong) yang terjadi di atas sebuah badan air. Mereka terhubung dengan awam kumuliform atau awan kumulonimbus. Dalam bentuk umum, ini adalah sebuah tornado non-supersel di atas air.

Meskipun sengkayan kebanyakan terjadi di wilayah tropis dan subtropis, wilayah lain juga dikabarkan mengalami sengkayan, yang meliputi Eropa, Selandia Baru, Danau-Danau Besar dan Antartika.
