Pertempuran Montgisard terjadi antara Ayyubiyah dan Kerajaan Yerusalem pada 25 November 1177. King Baldwin IV, yang mengidap kusta (penyakit Hansen), memimpin pasukan Kristen yang kalah jumlah melawan pasukan Saladin. Pasukan Muslim dengan cepat bergerak sepanjang dua belas mil. Salahuddin kabur ke Kairo, dan sampai ke kota tersebut pada 8 Desember.
