Opuntia adalah sebuah genus dari famili kaktus, Cactaceae.

Spesies kuliner paling terkenalnya adalah opuntia ara India (O. ficus-indica). Sebagian besar kuliner menggunakan istilah "pir berduri" untuk merujuk kepada spesies tersebut.

Genus tersebut mengambil nama dari kota Yunani Kuno Opus, dimana, menurut Teofrastus, sebuah tumbuhan pangan tumbuh dengan mengakarkan dedaunannya.
