Jaws

Jaws adalah film thriller tahun 1975 yang disutradarai oleh Steven Spielberg, berdasarkan novel Peter Benchley dan diilhami oleh serangan hiu di Jersey Shore tahun 1916. Film ini dibintangi oleh Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, Robert Shaw, Lorraine Gary, dan Murray Hamilton.

Jaws adalah salah satu film terlaris di dunia, dan diikuti oleh 3 sequel: Jaws 2 (1978), Jaws 3-D (1983), dan Jaws: The Revenge (1987). Ceritanya berawal di pantai Amity Island, ketika seorang wanita berenang di laut suatu malam. Secara tiba-tiba, tubuhnya diserang dan ditarik ke dalam air oleh makhluk tak dikenal. Dokter yang memeriksa jenazahnya mengambil kesimpulan bahwa ia diserang oleh ikan hiu. Kepala polisi Martin Brody (Scheider) ingin menutup pantai, tetapi dilarang oleh wali kota Larry Vaughn (Hamilton), yang khawatir bahwa jumlah wisatawan akan turun. Lagu tema orisinal untuk Jaws dirilis dalam bentuk LP oleh MCA pada 1975, dan sebagai CD pada 1992, yang meliputi musik setengah jam yang John Williams rekam ulang untuk album tersebut. Pada 2000, dua versi musik dirilis: satu dalam rekaman ulang seluruh musik Jaws oleh Royal Scottish National Orchestra yang dikonduksikan oleh Joel McNeely, dan lainnya bertepatan dengan perilisan DVD peringatan ke-25 oleh Decca/Universal, menampilkan seluruh 51 menit dari musik asli tersebut.
