Auteur (bahasa Prancis: [o.tœʁ]) adalah seorang artis tunggal yang mengendalikan seluruh aspek karya kreatif kolaboratif, orang yang setara dengan pengarang novel atau drama. Istilah tersebut umumnya merujuk kepada pembuat film atau sutradara dengan tanggung jawab gaya atau penyajian tematik.
