Kapal tanker minyak adalah jenis dari kapal tanker yang berfungsi untuk mengangkut minyak. Terdapat 2 jenis kapal tanker pengangkut minyak, yaitu kapal tanker pengangkut minyak matang/halus dan kapal tanker pengangkut minyak mentah.
Umumnya kapal pengangkut minyak mentah berukuran lebih kecil. Kapal ini harus dibuat kokoh dan jangan sampai minyak yang diangkutnya bocor karena dapat menyebabkan malapetaka dalam kehidupan laut di sekitarnya.
