Sejarah Sunting
Pada akhir tahun 1979, Walt Disney Pictures mengeluarkan film The Black Hole, film sains-fiksi yang memiliki rating PG. Selama beberapa tahun, Disney juga meluncurkan nominasi film tahun 1981, Condorman, film tahun 1982, Tron dan film tahun 1983, Never Cry Wolf serta Trenchcoat. Film-film berikutnya mendapat kritikan hasil dari rating PG. Film Trenchcoat menuai beberapa kontroversi.
Pada masa mulainya Ron W. Miller bertugas sebagai CEO, Touchstone Pictures didirikan. Film pertama Touchstone ialah Splash yang menawarkan $68 miliar. Touchstone Pictures juga memperoleh puluhan film pada tahun 2002, dan hingga kni merupakan bagian dari grup perfilman Disney.
