Thrasher adalah sebuah majalah seluncur papan yang didirikan pada bulan Januari 1981 oleh Eric Swenson dan Fausto Vitello, serta diterbitkan oleh High Speed Productions, Inc. asal San Francisco, Amerika Serikat. Majalah ini sebagian besar berisi artikel terkait seluncur papan dan musik, fotografi, serta ulasan skatepark. Sejarah sunting
Thrasher didirikan pada tahun 1981 oleh Fausto Vitello dan Eric Swenson, utamanya untuk mempromosikan perusahaan truk seluncur papan miliknya, Independent Truck Company. Editor pertama majalah ini adalah Kevin Thatcher. Pada tahun 1993, Jake Phelps ditunjuk sebagai editor baru majalah ini. Pada tahun 1999, majalah ini menjadi sponsor sebuah permainan PlayStation bernama Thrasher Presents Skate and Destroy. Anak Vitello, Tony, mengambil alih perusahaan ini setelah ayahnya meninggal dunia pada tahun 2006 dan Swenson bunuh diri pada tahun 2011. Pada tanggal 14 Maret 2019, editor Jake Phelps juga meninggal dunia.

Skater of the Year sunting
Gelar "Skater of the Year" diberikan tiap setahun sekali oleh majalah Thrasher. Tradisi ini dimulai pada tahun 1990, dan hingga saat ini tetap menjadi salah satu penghargaan paling bergengsi dalam budaya seluncur papan dunia. Gelar ini hanya diberikan pada seorang pemain seluncur papan tiap tahunnya oleh editor Thrasher. Hanya Chris Cole dan Danny Way yang pernah menerima penghargaan ini dua kali.

King of the Road sunting
Pada tahun 2003, Thrasher memulai kompetisi seluncur papan King of the Road (KOTR). Pada kontes KOTR ini, sekelompok pemain seluncur papan profesional yang telah diundang sebelumnya berkolaborasi dengan para seniman jalanan di acara penutupan siaran Mtv di Asia bertema "Urban Street Art" memberikan sebuah buku yang berisi serangkaian tantangan. Poin akan diberikan apabila tantangan dapat diselesaikan. Tim tersebut diberi waktu dua minggu untuk bepergian ke seantero Amerika Serikat guna menyelesaikan tantangan sebanyak mungkin.
KOTR digelar tiap setahun sekali, kecuali pada tahun 2008 dan 2009. Pada tahun 2011, Thrasher dan Converse mengadakan kompetisi serupa di Tiongkok, dengan diikuti oleh empat produsen papan luncur terbesar di Tiongkok.
Skate Rock sunting
Thrasher merilis seri kompilasi musik bernama "Skate Rock" di bawah label High Speed Productions. Rilis pertama dilakukan pada tahun 1983, dengan Volume One, dan berlanjut hingga Volume Seven pada tahun 1989. Seri inipun mulai menampilkan band punk rock asal California, termasuk band yang digawangi oleh para pemain papan luncur, seperti Steve Caballero, Tony Alva, dan Klaus Grabke di bawah nama Eight Dayz.
Dari tujuh volume Skate Rock, semua volume diproduksi sebagai sebuah kaset yang tersedia melalui Thrasher Magazine. Beberapa volume juga tersedia sebagai rekaman vinyl.
