Tanah air Proto-Indo-Eropa

Tanah air Proto-Indo-Eropa (atau tanah air Indo-Eropa) adalah urheimat prasejarah rumpun bahasa Indo-Eropa, atau dalam kata lain wilayah tempat dituturkannya nenek moyang bersama rumpun bahasa tersebut, bahasa Proto-Indo-Eropa. Dari wilayah ini orang-orang Proto-Indo-Eropa bermigrasi dan mulai membentuk cabang baru bahasa tersebut. Sebagian besar ahli Indo-Eropa mendukung hipotesis Kurgan yang menyatakan bahwa tanah air Proto-Indo-Eropa terletak di stepa Pontus-Kaspia sekitar 4000 SM.

Tanah air Proto-Indo-Eropa berdasarkan pada hipotesis stepa (hijau gelap) dan persebaran bahasa-bahasa Indo-Eropa di zaman sekarang di Eurasia (hijau terang).

Salah satu teori alternatif yang telah diajukan adalah hipotesis Anatolia yang menempatkan tanah air Proto-Indo-Eropa di wilayah Anatolia sekitar tahun 8000 SM, tetapi teori ini tidak lagi didukung.
