Sterling Kelby Brown (lahir 5 April 1976) adalah aktor Amerika Serikat. Dia membintangi drama FX The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story, yang membuatnya meraih Primetime Emmy Award. Saat ini Brown membintangi serial drama populer NBC This Is Us sebagai Randall Pearson. Kehidupan Awal dan Pendidikan sunting
Brown lahir di St. Louis, Missouri, dari pasangan Sterling Brown dan Aralean Banks Brown. Brown memiliki dua saudara perempuan dan dua saudara laki-laki. Ayahnya meninggal saat Brown berumur 10 tahun. Semasa kecil ia dipanggil Kelby; ketika berumur 16 tahun barulah ia menggunakan nama Sterling, ia menjelaskan hal ini pada tahun 2016,
Semula aku dipanggil. Ibuku bercerita - dia mengulang hal ini pada hari yang lain - waktu TK aku pulang dan berkata 'Mom, Sterling terdiri dari delapan huruf dan Kelby lima. Aku sekarang menggunakan nama Kelby dan nanti ketika berumur 16 tahun aku akan dipanggil Sterling' Dan aku tidak ingat itu. Momen itu sudah lama berlalu dan kemudian aku merasa 'Kelby itu nama anak kecil.' Aku merasa sudah siap untuk menjadi Sterling.
Brown besar di Olivette, Missouri dan bersekolah di Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day School. Dia lulus dari Stanford University tahun 1998 dengan gelar sarjana keaktoran. Semula ia hendak mendalami ilmu bisnis, tetapi kemudian jatuh cinta dengan dunia akting. Brown kemudian bersekolah di New York University Tisch School of the Arts dimana ia meraih gelar MFA.

Setelah menyelesaikan kuliah, Brown tampil dalam beberapa pertunjukan teater regional. Brown juga tampil sebagai bintang tamu di beberapa serial televisi seperti ER, NYPD Blue, JAG, Boston Legal, Alias, Without A Trace, Supernatural, dan Third Watch. Pemain tetap dalam serial komedi Starved dan juga tampil dalam film seperti Stay bersama Ewan McGregor, Brown Sugar bersama Taye Diggs and Trust the Man dengan David Duchovny dan Julianne Moore.
Ia membawakan peran berulang dalam serial televisi Supernatural, sebagai seorang pemburu vampir bernama Gordon Walker. Brown berperan sebagai Dr. Roland Burton dalam Army Wives. Sebagai Detektif Cal Beecher dalam Person of Interest. Tahun 2008, ia berperan sebagai David Mosley di episode "Patience" serial Eli Stone. Tahun 2016, Brown membintangi miniseri FX The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story sebagai Christopher Darden, yang membuatnya mendapatkan penghargaan Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie pada acara 68th Primetime Emmy Awards.
Di panggung teater, tahun 2002 Brown terlibat dalam produksi naskah Bertolt Brecht The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui yang juga melibatkan Al Pacino, Paul Giamatti, Steve Buscemi, John Goodman dan Jacqueline McKenzie. Tahun 2014 ia mendapat peran sebagai Hero dalam naskah adaptasi Odyssey yang ditulis Suzan-Lori Parks, Father Comes Home From the Wars di Public Theater New York.
Sejak 2016, ia membintangi serial televisi This Is Us. Tahun 2018, ia menjadi aktor kulit hitam pertama yang memenangkan Golden Globe untuk kategore Aktor Drama Televisi Terbaik, yang ia dapatkan berkat perannya di This Is Us.
