Menurut biografer India Muhammad, Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri, Dumat Al-Jandal berlokasi lima belas hari perjalanan dari Madinah dan lima hari dari Damaskus. According to William Montgomery Watt, it is 500 miles from Medina.
