Penghargaan Kehormatan Akademi, dibentuk pada 1948 untuk Academy Awards ke-21 (sebelumnya disebut Penghargaan Khusus), diberikan oleh Badan Gubernur dari Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) untuk film yang tidak disorot oleh Academy Awards pada masa sebelumnya, meskipun para pemenang terdahulu dari Academy Awards kompetitif juga dapat diberi Penghargaan Kehormatan. Tak berbeda dari yang lainnya, penerima Penghargaan Kehormatan diberi piala emas Oscar yang sama dengan piala yang diberikan kepada para pemenang Academy Awards kompetitif.
