Nukleosintesis bintang adalah teori yang menjelaskan pembuatan unsur-unsur kimia lewat reaksi fusi nuklir di antara atom di dalam bintang. Nukleosintesis bintang telah berlangsung semenjak terbuatnya hidrogen, helium, dan litium selama Ledakan Dahsyat. Teori ini menjelaskan mengapa unsur-unsur tertentu dan isotop-isotop tertentu dari unsur-unsur tersebut lebih berlimpah daripada yang lain. Teori ini awalnya dicetuskan oleh Fred Hoyle pada tahun 1946, yang kemudian mengembangkannya lagi pada tahun 1954.
