Mitos Bumi datar adalah kesalahpahaman masa kini yang mengira bahwa masyarakat Abad Pertengahan di Eropa menganggap Bumi itu datar, bukan bulat.

Pada Abad Pertengahan awal, hampir semua ilmuwan menegaskan bahwa pandangan Bumi bulat pertama kali dikemukakan oleh bangsa Yunani Kuno. Sejak abad ke-14, hampir semua kalangan terpelajar tidak meyakini Bumi datar, meski digambarkan dengan sangat rinci di berbagai karya seni, misalnya bagian luar lukisan triptik The Garden of Earthly Delights karya Hieronymus Bosch yang menampilkan Bumi berbentuk cakram melayang di dalam bola transparan.

Menurut Stephen Jay Gould, "tidak pernah ada zaman 'kegelapan Bumi bulat' di kalangan terpelajar (meskipun masyarakat awam zaman dulu maupun sekarang punya bayangan sendiri soal planet kita). Pengetahuan bangsa Yunani tentang kebulatan Bumi tidak pernah sirna. Semua ilmuwan ternama Abad Pertengahan mengakui kebulatan Bumi sebagai fakta kosmologi yang tidak terbantahkan." Sejarawan sains David Lindberg dan Ronald Numbers mengungkapkan bahwa "nyaris tidak ada ilmuwan Kristen Abad Pertengahan yang tidak mengakui kebulatan [Bumi] dan mengetahui diameter rata-ratanya".

Sejarawan Jeffrey Burton Russell mengatakan bahwa mitos Bumi datar berkembang antara tahun 1870 dan 1920. Itu pun didorong oleh latar ideologi yang dipicu oleh perdebatan tentang evolusi dalam biologi.
