Sejarah sunting

Perusahaan ini didirikan tahun 2006 oleh Aaron Edsinger dan Jeff Weber sebagai badan usaha pecahan dari MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory

Pada tahun 2012, perusahaan ini bekerja sama dengan Human Centered Robotics Group di University of Texas at Austin untuk mengembangkan HUME, robot humanoid dua kaki dengan kelincahan tinggi.

Pada tahun yang sama, perusahaan ini bersama Willow Garage dan SRI International mendirikan usaha patungan bernama Redwood Robotics, perusahaan yang khusus memproduksi lengan robotik.

Pada tanggal 5 Desember 2013, Google mengakuisisi Meka Robotics.
