Lophelia pertusa, satu-satunya spesies dalam genus Lophelia, adalah sebuah karang air dingin yang tumbuh di perairan dalam di sepanjang samudra Atlantik Utara, serta sebagian Laut Karibia dan Laut Alboran. Karang L. pertusa adalah tempat dari keragaman hayati. Namun, spesies tersebut bertumbuh sangat lambat dan dapat hancur oleh praktek-praktek perikanan yang merusak, atau pengambilan dan penyedotan minyak.
