John Clarke Slater (22 Desember 1900 – 25 Juli 1976) adalah seorang fisikawan Amerika terkenal yang membuat kontribusi besar pada teori struktur elektronik atom, molekul dan padat. Karyanya saat ini berpengaruh dalam bidang kimia serta beberapa ranah fisika. Ia juga membuat kontribusi besar pada elektronik arus mikro. Ia meraih gelar a B.S. dari Universitas Rochester pada 1920 dan Ph.D. dalam bidang Fisika dari Harvard pada 1923
