James Dorsey (29 Februari 1904 – 12 Juni 1957) adalah seorang pemain klarinet, saxophone, komponis dan ketua grup musik jazz Amerika Serikat. Ia dikenal sebagai "JD". Ia merekam dan mengkomposisikan lagu-lagu standar jazz dan pop "I'm Glad There Is You (In This World of Ordinary People)" dan "It's The Dreamer In Me". Rekaman besar lainnya adalah "Tailspin", "John Silver", "So Many Times", "Amapola", "Brazil (Aquarela do Brasil)", "Pennies from Heaven" dengan Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, dan Frances Langford, "Grand Central Getaway", dan "So Rare".
