Jean le Rond d'Alembert

Jean-Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert (/dæləmˈbɛər/; bahasa Prancis: [ʒɑ̃ batist lə ʁɔ̃ dalɑ̃bɛːʁ]; 16 November 1717 – 29 Oktober 1783) adalah seorang matematikawan, mekanikawan, fisikawan, filsuf dan teoretikus musik asal Prancis. Sampai 1759, bersama dengan Denis Diderot, ia menjadi penyunting Encyclopédie. Rumus D'Alembert untuk memberikan jawaban untuk persamaan gelombang diambil dari namanya. Persamaan gelombang terkadang disebut sebagai persamaan d'Alembert, dan teorema aljabar fundamental diambil dari nama d'Alembert dalam bahasa Prancis.
