Gantung diri adalah sebuah tindakan bunuh diri dengan penyangga dari titik ujung (seperti balok atau kait) atau titik ikat (seperti leher dan rahang) dengan sebuah ikatan atau lompat dari ketinggian dengan sebuah ikatan tali di sekitaran leher.

Gantung diri sering kali dianggap sebagai metode bunuh diri sederhana yang tak mengharuskan teknik yang rumit. Namun, kajian orang yang berupaya gantung diri dan selamat menyatakan bahwa persepsi tersebut tidaklah akurat . Cara tersebut adalah salah satu metode bunuh diri paling umum dan memiliki tingkat kematian yang tinggi; Gunnell et al. menyebut angka sekitar 70 persen.
