Caleb McLaughlin

Caleb Reginald McLaughlin (lahir 13 Oktober 2001) adalah aktor asal Amerika Serikat. Ia memulai kariernya di panggung Broadway sebagai Simba muda dalam musikal The Lion King. Sejak 2016, ia telah memerankan Lucas Sinclair dalam serial drama fiksi ilmiah Netflix, Stranger Things. Dia juga muncul dalam film High Flying Bird (2019) dan Concrete Cowboy (2020). Karyanya juga termasuk bereperan di miniseri The New Edition Story (2017).

Kehidupan Awal

McLaughin tumbuh di Carmel, sebuah kota kecil di pinggiran kota New York. Ia masuk di Kent Primary School dan kemudian SMP di George Fischer Middle School selama satu tahun. Setelah kelas lima, McLaughlin pindah ke Kota New York. Ia belajar menari selama setahun di Happy Feet Dance School di Carmel, NY dan kemudian di The Harlem School of Arts di bawah arahan Aubrey Lynch, mantan produser Lion King.

Karier

Peran akting pertama McLaughlin adalah dalam opera Lost in the Stars di Cooperstown, New York di Glimmerglass Opera House. Peran utama pertama McLaughlin adalah sebagai Young Simba di Broadway selama tiga tahun dari 2012-2015. Dia kemudian menjadi bintang tamu dalam serial televisi seperti: Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Unforgettable, Forever, What Would You Do? dan Shades of Blue. Pada tahun 2016, peran terobosan McLaughlin datang dengan perannya sebagai Lucas Sinclair dalam serial Netflix, Stranger Things. Pada tahun 2017, McLaughlin menerima nominasi untuk BET YoungStars Award dan pada tahun 2018 ia memenangkan Outstanding Performance by a Youth di NAACP Image Awards. Pada tahun 2020, McLaughlin debut film panjang Concrete Cowboy.
