"Austria – korban pertama Nazi" adalah sebuah slogan politik yang pertama kali digunakan dalam Konferensi Moskwa dan kemudian menjadi landasan ideologi Austria dan kesadaran nasional bangsa Austria pada periode pendudukan Austria oleh Sekutu dari tahun 1945 hingga 1955. Menurut interpretasi para pendiri Republik Austria Kedua, peristiwa Anschluss pada tahun 1938 adalah sebuah agresi militer yang dilancarkan oleh Reich Ketiga. Perjuangan korban-korban Nazi yang sebenarnya untuk memperoleh keadilan (seperti orang Yahudi) dituduh sebagai upaya untuk memperkaya diri.

Pada tahun 1986, pemilihan mantan petugas intelijen Wehrmacht Kurt Waldheim sebagai Presiden Austria hampir membuat Austria terisolasi di dunia internasional. Tekanan dari luar dan diskusi politik internal memaksa orang-orang Austria untuk mempertimbangkan kembali cara mereka memandang masa lalu.
