Alan David Sokal (/ˈsoʊkəl/; lahir 24 Januari 1955) adalah seorang profesor matematika di Universitas Kolese London dan profesor fisika di Universitas New York. Ia bekerja dalam mekanika statistik dan kombinatorik. Ia adalah kritikus pasca-modernisme dan menimbulkan perkara Sokal pada 1996 saat makalah buatannya diterbitkan oleh Social Text dari Universitas Duke.
